Welcome Michigan and Eastern Michigan Students!

August 12, 2008

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for looking at our website and considering Fellowship Bible Church to be your church “home away from home.” Our church is is a great place for serious Christian students who want to learn the Word of God in depth. We offer many opportunities from Sunday school and the morning worship service to Sunday evening to special Bible studies on the campus.

In fact, if you would like to have a Campus Bible Fellowship Bible study in your dorm or apartment and can invite a few friends to come, we would love to meet with you to do that. We have done this in previous years and it is a great blessing. We would like to do more such studies so that we can have a significant impact on the Christian students on the campus, as well as to reach out to those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ personally.

We have and have had students from all types of academic programs and ethnic backgrounds--from Grand Rapids, Michigan to the island nation of Singapore, and everywhere in between. The common thread is that we teach from a fundamental doctrinal perspective, holding God's Word dear, and standing against the tides of theological liberalism, ecumenism, evolutionism, and post-modernism.

As a former student at Michigan, I understand the challenges Christian students face on the campus. I understand the time crunch on students, and at the same time I understand the crucial need for student to be able to articulate their faith in English 125 or any number of other courses where the Christian student is challenged to be bold for the Lord Jesus Christ. The mainstream philosophies in academia necessitate a Biblically astute world-view. Many students have found that they are not as prepared as they would like to be for this challenge. We will help you with that preparation to be a light on the campus!

For those of you on a fixed meal budget, you will appreciate the meals that our families offer to you on a regular basis. We also have a potluck lunch the first Sunday of each month (first one is September 7, 2008) to provide a good meal for the college students and an opportunity for fellowship. We're not talking about dorm food here!

I trust we will see you soon at Fellowship Bible Church!

Pastor Matt Postiff, Ph.D., M.Div.
